This week was the start of the Research Project so not much can be said about what we have done other than what would be expected for the first week. That includes: making (or logging into our profile from last year) a Wikispace and joining Mr Tengdahl’s Wikispace which we will use for collaboration and journal entries; designing an appropriate focus question (thus, topic) which will be the basis for our research; and discussions with the rest of the class about appropriate questions and research methods.My focus question was “what is the impact of public fundraising on society both directly and indirectly” until two teachers had approached me about the research project and it’s methods. My question is based on qualitative research, which both teachers seemed to think was the more appropriate type. However, both teachers seemed to agree that focus questions were not appropriate for a qualitative research thus I changed my focus question into a statement “Society’s Reaction to Public Fundraising”.But altogether, this has just made me more and more confused about what to do for Research Project. I look forward to the methodology of Research Project being finalized so we are clear what to do.
